Tell us about your experience at Allesverloren
I enjoyed the tasting at this farm and in particular liked the 08 Shiraz. It was not busy so we were looked after fairly well
Worth visiting on a sunny day and tasting out on the deck. Only red wines here with some interesting tinta barocca. not much else to mention. you actually feel like the tasting room is not part of the farm.
All is actually lost here…the farm is beautiful but the tasting room imparts none of the history and tradition of the farm. Wine is average at best and the service was shocking. The tasting room attendant was even advising the other customers to not eat at the farm’s restaurant…we didn’t take her advice either and we should have. The Pleasant Pheasant was decidedly UNpleasant to say the very least.
Enjoyed a fabulous day at Allesverloren during the recent Olive Festival. Great wines, entertainment and ambiance. I enjoyed the Touriga tremendously, but my old favourite is stil their Shiraz.
Very enjoyable tasting and definitely one of the better, commercial farms on the route. Was very interested in tasting here due to their ubiquity as one of the more upmarket South African wines found on the shelves of most Systembolagets. The Touriga stood out for me, although the Cab was certainly enjoyable but should lie down for many years imo. And of course, the port, as others before have said, is a classic.
Efficient and friendly host made tasting a pleasure on a busy Saturday afternoon. The Port is a classic and we enjoyed tasting wines made from Touriga Nacional and Tinta Barocca.
Average experience. Struggled to get the attention of the tasting room attendant. She was more interested in chatting up the German guests in their home language. Wine not as good as I remember it. Interesting wines with port varietals used for still wines, but always leaving you wanting and expecting a little bit more. Port is excellent though.
More commercial than some of the other estates
Good resteraunt on the estate with excellent food and a good place to sit and watch the day go bye.
Some great wines & still one of the finest affordable ports
