Visited the new tasting room at Reneessance Restaurant in Napier. Wonderfully rustic – here you can spit or swallow without any pretentiousness! Tasted the just bottled 2009 Signature Chenin Blanc…if it turns out half as good as the 2008 it will be fabulous.

Jean Daneel truly understands grapes – hence his illustrious career and best in SA Chenin Blanc. He can make red wine too – try his Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon! Visit his wife’s restaurant in town to pair his wine with fabulous food.

The best Chenin produced in South Africa by a country mile. Press the Daneel’s for a taste of the Jean Daneel MCC made from Chenin grapes. Matured on the lees for 4 years.
