Really enjoyed the visit. Fire in the hearth on an early winter afternoon, lovely people, pretty property and excellent wines, especially the older Sauv Blanc 2007 and an impressive Pinot Noir. Lunch from the deli was a delicious bonus.

Return visit in December. Simple, small and charming winery. Even better than ever, great deli too which compliments some extremely well made wines. Try their coffee which is there own blend. If marking again I would give a 9 maybe even 10.

@Dion Martin – Sorry to hear that you tried to pop in, there should have been a sign explaining the closure up. We were closed for nearly 3 months on account of the bridge being washed away in the winter rains. It was very frustrating. However, I am pleased to say that we are now open again, and running at full steam, and would love you to try again, and join us for a tasting and perhaps a bite to eat in the deli. Just tell us who you are when you get here, we’d like to give you a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc for your trouble. See you on the farm, Cheers, Justin

We visited Highlands Road twice over the open garden week-ends, the welcome was fantastic, the wines good and food superb, will definitely be back in future.

Cant really say much about this farm as it was closed on the Saturday that we tried to visit. Even though it says it is open on Saturdays!

Brilliant Wines and great deli, a must for anyone in the area. I love the various different styles of Sauvignon. I look forward to my return trip to South Africa and in particular Highlands Road. The wine is now in the SW of England, http://www.newton-wines.com.

So is very late 3;45 pm , i was writing a paper for a congress all night but I’m very curious and I couldn’t resist and came to have a look. is splendid. I was remembering Cape town. I have a friend that lives in Johannesburg. The farms are so beautiful and so many that I have to come back many times. See you soon. Good Night. Celia

This is by far the best wine farm I have visited for a long time. It is refreshing to visit a farm that has a unique balance of traditional and modern flair – about time !! Well done to Justin and May Hoy. We especially love your decks onto the dam, and ideal place to sip on some superb wines and eat yummy home made meals. I especially like the Rose.

Sincere: The name says it all! A crisp and zingy wine with a cool and refreshing after-taste. Perfect to tickle your tastebuds! A real winner!

However, if you could inform me what an ” ES A E ” is it would be much appreciated ! ( see photo ) :D
Did the car come with the estate? :P

Wow! What an amazing place! Breathtaking scenery, extremely friendly staff and very tasty wines. A true hidden gem!

We were welcomed by Simon van der Merwe. He was friendly and made us feel right at home. We were also introduced to the super cool winemaker, Justin Hoy. I really enjoyed the wine, the conversation and the scenery. The tasting room has a fresh and modern look and one can see that a lot of effort was put into it.

I enjoyed all the wines that were on tasting. My personal favourites:

2007 Sauvignon Blanc @ R75
2008 Free Run Sauvignon Blanc @ R90 YUMMY!

I will definitely visit this spot again and again. To top it all they even have a restaurant with a deli. Can’t wait to try it out. Best find of the year so far!
