what makes this place awesome is the Huge selection of wines there. Poor service from the staff there and the tasting experience is nulified by the fact that there is a tasting fee and a not so friendly atmosphere.
however the porter house shiraz and the other unfiltered range are worth serious consideration given their prices

The “Corporate Whore” of the Tulbagh Wine route……..but I’m sure every Wine route has one! The mass-produced wines that were available for tasting left a weird bitter taste in the mouth, which is probably understandable if one looks at the cheap prices. The more expensive wine were not for tasting. We bought 2 bottles of Red Grape juice…….and we never buy juice!

It’s just an opinion. That’s the experience that we had from our once of visit to them. Compared to the effort that other wine farms put into a tasting experience, Tulbagh Cellar was seriously lacking. I’ve received better attention at our local liquor store, while buying Tulbagh wines, than at the cellar. It’s not as if we hate the wine because it’s cheap, it’s the fact that we drove all the way out to visit the cellar which had zero to offer. That’s probably why the wine left a that bitter taste in my mouth that day. Better luck next time!

I found the wines of Tulbagh Winery very drinkable. Just because wine are cheap does not make it bad. I think the cooment above isvery unfair.
