Tell us about your experience at The Heuvel Estate
One of neatest and most beautiful setting for a wine estate!
This farm definately only strives for the best. Monia is the gem of the estate, and Johan can truly teach anybody a thing or two about wine!
Modern neat classy tasting room. The wines are just a touch above average but are perfect examples of the reds you expect from Tulbagh. Abundant fruit with very deep plummy colours.
Exceptional value for money and friendly host Monia and wine maker Johan.
We went in for a quick 20 minute tasting and ended up staying for an hour and they even threw in 2 slices of Pizza.
Loved it! Super impressed with the wines, especially the Shiraz and Dry Muscat. Beautiful tasting facility, would love to go back with a group of friends.
Our first stop on the Tulbagh wine route was De Heuvel Estate and what a pleasant surprise we had at 9am on a freezing Saturday morning. De Heuvel Estate is a “extremely good looking” Wine Estate with modern finishes all over the show in the tasting room. The wine that we tasted was a bit watery….but no fear, because they have appointed a new Wine Maker, Johan Meyer, who would hopefully change the taste of the wine to suit the awesome tasting room.
PS: They had no spitting facilities……always a good thing!
Worth a visit!
Love the interior. A few renovations can go a long way. Looking forward to the restaurant. The wines were ok-ish. Still to taste the new winemaker\’s wine. It seems that this wine farm got some big plans for the future so I will have to pop around again soon.
