Not so impressed with this one. Read the People’s choice article (wine.co.za) on Friday and really wanted to know more about the story behind the penguin wine….all I got from the friendly but shy girl behind the counter was “I am only working here for almost a year now so I do not know” ….what??? Stupid answer! Apart from the that, I think the wines are ok, the whites a bit overprized but the reds good value for money….We left with some Pinotage and the Pinotage/Cab Sauv blend.

Mmmmm. Nice, a wine FARM and to add to that, a family farm. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant and so was Erika with her stories which was sincere and personal. They had a very personal set up for the weekend with olives and was sad it was so far away from where we stayed. Would have love to join in the celebrations. I was also surprised to see that they do functions have accommodation and much more . . . Loved it!

Second Stop: On our arrival at Conradie Family Vineyards, we were welcomed by Angela and Erika. They were both super friendly and chatty. Some wine estates in Stellenbosch can learn a thing or two from these two ladies when it comes to service.

We started of with the Sweet Rosaline Perle Wine, which tasted great. I also enjoyed the Cabernet Sauvignon a lot, but unfortunately it was not labeled yet. It will be released towards the end of June.
Will have to return then, because the restaurant across the road looks amazing and we finished the Rosaline on Friday night already.

Awesome find!
