At first you may think this will be a typical commercial farm with wine that offer little in terms of originality and “soul” but if you taste the premium Z range you start to shift the paradigms a bit….the tasting room can get crowded at times and do not expect to learn much from the staff, although they are very friendly!

One of the worst experiences ever – tasting staff could answer NO questions. Wine is over extracted and mass produced and tastes that way…no tasting of the (hopefully) good stuff (the Z range).

The guys were very friendly and informative. They gave extra info without making us feel “dumb.” We will definately go there again!

It was my mom’s birthday on Wednesday 17th March and I decided to take her for a buffet breakfast at Zenwacht Restaurant. It was both our first time visiting the wine estate and all I can say is WOW! I’ve lived in Kuils River, just down the road from the estate. My mom had such an awesome time! We sat outside eating while enjoying the majestic scenery. I couldn’t believe that this paradise was right on my doorstep:) Zevenwacht is a great place to visit as a family, have a nice romantic night out with your loved one or even just to stop by for breakfast or lunch with a friend. There’s something for everyone. I will definately be going again and am even planning to host a Miglio Designer Jewellery function there for about 20 ladies. So if there are any ladies in the Northern Suburbs who might be interested in attending, please let me know:) info@shzenspa.co.za

Absolutely mediocre experience. One of the worst farms I’ve ever visited. The tasting room attendant had no clue what she was talking about – obviously a casual, and was nothing but a bar maid. I wouldn’t recommend the wine either, unless you prefer cheap and cheerful. A more advanced palate will find the normal range of wines a bit below par. The more premium wines (Z range) are not available to taste, which is absurd considering you want us to fork out more to buy it. I will not buy wine if I do not know what it tastes like. Just another farm making money off weddings and conferences without bothering to train their staff (including the winemaker) properly.

Your wines are definately the best. Love The Tin Wine collection. Those of you who haven’t tried it yet you’re missing out on some really good wines

We were at Zevenwacht for Valentines Day and were a group of 7 adults and 3 kids. I hadnt been in about 5 years and was keen to see what they had to offer as we have been sampling many wine estates restaurants and picnics of late.

The wine estate has sprawled and the landscaping is really lovely. There were many people there but just the sight of the Manor House and her lawns and all the serene trees and greenery just set the mood.

We sat and sampled the wines first and all had our take on Zevenwacht’s offering. I found the Chenin Blanc very easy on the palate and a great “anytime” wine. We had organised 2 and a half baskets and went to fetch them – the only part of the day I could find fault with, was the delay in getting the baskets. It felt like forever and was very slow but as mentioned the estate was busy.

We had a lovely spot on the lawn and despite the fact that there were many other couples, everyone relaxed and just enjoyed the day thoroughly.

The baskets are magnificant and contain appropriate picnic fare and on top of it all the portions are incredibly generous and its tasty grub!!!

The kids had a super time – between feeding the ducks and playing with the local Labrador walking about, they also went and played on the jungle gym kids area. There is plenty of lawn to mess around on as well as other kids to amuse themselves with.

I know there is a Braai Option-Picnic that the estate offer but this was sold-out when we rang to book. Apparently it comes fully kitted out and is incredibly popular so maybe an idea for the future. For those wanting refinement – there is the Manor House Restaurant, wine tasting and of course the Spa on the estate property.

A fabulous day out all-in-all and we will certainly not stay away for 5 years again and will be back soon!!

This is a great wine farm. Very nice tasting area, with informative tasting assistants. They have a good selection of wines and the cheese platters are also nice, as a cheese and wine pairing, or just a little snack. They have young wine makers with a lot of talent. I look forward to seeing more of them in the future.

Zevenwacht is situated in a lovely setting, but it’s probably the biggest tourist trap that you will find in Kraaifontein. To get to the tasting room you must first walk through the curio shop. The prices is ridiculously expensive. You can get a wire/beaded hippo for the “bargain” price of R4000, or you can opt for the telephone wire candle holder for R300. Please refer to photo gallery to view items. The wine on tasting is affordable, but overpriced for the quality that you get. The staff is friendly but makes it clear that the international tourists comes first. You will be turned away if they are expecting international guests, even if their booking is an hour away. If you want to visit them, be sure to take your international passport along or practice that fake American/Japanese accent of yours. Preferably arrive in a big bus as well.

We have visited Zevenwacht several times. We have made use of their excellent conference facilities and also stayed in the hotel for our honeymoon. The service was always professional, friendly and efficient. The food in the restaurant is also very good. Our experience at Zevenwacht was always a pleasant one because of the genuine helpfulness of the staff. Whenever we visit Cape Town Zevenwacht is our first choice for accommodation. It’s great value and they make you feel at home.

I’ve always had a great experience when visiting. The service is excellent, the wine fantastic, food to die for and the staff are always friendly, polite and professional. Not to mention the beautiful surroundings! We used the farm as venue for a conference as well and the entire event was handled extremely well. No request was too much too handle and every need was catered for. Definitely a farm I will visit over and over again.

Wow i am just over the moon by the last comments by the last person. This wine farm has left me with an impression of note. The service was no other than excellent. I take my hat off to the men and women at the farm, in all my journeys I have never seen so much love for wine and service………………and a passion and people.

It’s that typical wedding venue and tourist trap wine farm that only caters for the big international tourist buses. It seems as if our South African Rand is not good enough for them.I will never, ever go there again.

Did not get to taste, we were turned away due to a tourist bus taking preference, which was to arrive 40 min after our arrival. I am sure the people arriving after us were left with this poor taste in the mouth.
