Tell us about your experience at Noble Hill Wine Estate
I was most impresed by the friendliness and the vast amount of knowledge displayed by the staff in the wine tasting centre. I found the tasting room itself to be imaculately decorated and I loved the way from inside the room through the archway out onto the fields/garden… in one word: WOW!!!!
I cannot single out one red wine as my favourite as all were absolutely scrumptious. Kudo’s to the owners/winemaker/staff… all contributed to a wonderful experience. i’ll definately be back soon!
Spectacular grounds and delicious wines (the Shiraz-Mourvedre was my favorite). A perfect place to spend a few hours soaking up the sun and enjoying life. The food at Cosecha is delicious (fresh peppers come from meters away) – come for a brunch of huevos rancheros.
Can’t wait for the Dear Leader to be ready!
Beautiful grounds, great food at cosecha. 1674 is not to be missed, and the Viognier opened my eyes to the possibilities of a whole new varietal.
Always amazing…love to take guests. The best viognier….service and stunning food!!
Jonathan, thanks for your review and glad that you enjoyed your lunch! Sorry to hear that the road noise was noticeable during your visit. I hope you’ll come back in spring or summer as the trees and vines mitigate this noise in a big way.
Enjoyed a lovely lunch at Noble Hill on Sunday. Interesting to have a “Mexican” menu at a winefarm, but I really enjoyed it. The food was great and the bottle of Sav Blanc that we enjoyed was equally delicious.
My only (minor) criticism would be that it’s a bit of a pity about the road noise at the restaurant, although I am sure that when it’s busier inside, it’s probably not as audible.
This is where we started the day! What a mistake! We should have ended our day here. Brilliant service – I cannot remember the last time I laughed so much! The wine was quite brilliant, if a bit on the expensive side…but I will pay with a smile for quality. The local olive oil was also a great surprise!
Visited on a scorching 44C afternoon so appreciated the mist coolers on the stylish lounge-style patio at the restaurant. Had a super lunch, charming, well-trained staff. Unfortunately we couldn’t linger but we’ll definitely go back for a more leisurely visit.
So the last stop of the day was Noble Hills and yes it was a great day to end off, the gardens being impressive, the venue being ideal and a lovely ambiance around you.. the tasting venue was impressive, simple but different and elegant with a very friendly host from the USA.
heading onto the wines, well we tasted 5 and i wish i could have bought all 5 but in the end i did buy the Merlot 2006, which was impressive by the way!
oh and i did have a quick taste of the garlic olive oil and it did please!!!!
Loved their wines, very clued up hostess. Just a beautiful estate!
A hidden gem, tucked between Kanonkop and Paarl Mountain, Noble Hill produces single-vineyard estate wines, made to reflect the soil, climate and geology of the Simonsberg area. Using beetles and ducks for pest control instead of chemicals, and nitrogen-enriching cover crops instead of fertilizer, the result is a sustainable ecosystem that supports diverse flora and fauna.

My first visit to Noble Hill, and what a surprise. The Merlot 2005 was really good and we returned later to have lunch at the lovely Cosecha restaraunt – so we could have a bottle of Merlot to ourselves. A definte swallow!
The last stop of the day was Noble Hill, and my-oh-my, we really saved the best for last . . . !!! I gave this farm a 10 as it sets the standard of what the industry (wine farms) needs to strive for in the service they offer to the passer through. I’m from the hospitality industry and was thinking of sending some of our staff here.
The farm’s garden was neatly and superbly kept, the tasting room nicely laid out and ambient, and the ‘Gentleman of Vino’ (Chris?) . . . awesome, a true host!
I enjoyed all their red wines and even some of their whites but what stuck with me the most was the experience and that is what a trip/tour through the winelands are all about. We even got to learn (Education Bonus) of the 6th sense of Umami (I call it the braai sense) look it up on Wikipedia or visit the farm instead, you will not be disappointed.
Big up to Kris for being the perfect host once again! I fell in love with the wines and the place, all over again.
It was extremely difficult to decided which wines to buy this time around. They were all great and affordable, but with a swiped through credit card, I had to make a decision. I decided on: The Noble Hill Viognier 2007, Noble Hill “1674″ 2005 and the Noble Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 2003. I must say, I was super happy when I arrived home to still find a 2005 Merlot in my collection. I opened it immediately in celebration.
Love the packaging of their wines as well. It looks better than any Louis Vuitton.
very nice setting, lovely dam, grass, restaurant. great wine, well priced,
the new american owners have drastically improved the place. hope they don’t make it too flashy their wines are still great hope they don’t change too much either
What an absolutely breathtaking Wine Estate! Big trees, green lawns, comfy coaches, great wine, what more can one ask for?
Our host Christopher was very friendly and informative and made us feel right at home. The wine was fantastic and reasonably priced. They offer picnic baskets which one can enjoy on the lawn or in the garden and it looks very appealing. I’m so gonna go back to visit their Cosecha Restaurant with a Latin inspired menu. Where in South Africa have you ever heard of a breakfast that consist out of “crisp corn tortillas topped with beans, fried eggs, shredded sharp cheddar, salsa, sour cream and guacamole”? yummmmmy!!!!!
See you guys soon!
I was the one one who enjoyed the fantastic lunch with Madam Dewyn and thought the overall experience was comforting and peaceful. It makes you feel like you never want to leave. I’m pretty sure the restaurant had a Mexican theme tho but none the less I highly recommend a visit.
A friend and I enjoyed great food and amazing wine at Noble Hill yesterday. It was inexpensive and great value for money. So going back!
Everything about this place was amazing. The location, the wine, the host, the food. Top notch. I had the best experience by far at this winery. I hope to see Noble Hill wine in the US someday soon! Just gives me another reason to visit South Africa again. I will recommend this estate to anyone who visits SA. Very warm and welcoming!! Kudos to Chris and company!
From start to finish, Noble Hill is a must-see on any wine tour. From a friendly family vibe, to jaw-dropping views, to great food and service at the restaurant, I am already planning my trip back to the estate. I’ve already bought a case of the Viognier, which, in my opinion, is the best I’ve had in South Africa. Of the 25 estates I’ve visited so far on my trip, Noble Hill is the one I will remember as my favourite.
It was fantastic – wine, decor of the place, and kind people – will definitely come back!!!
(They should seriously consider importing to US!!)
Vrek lekker wyne. Defnitief ‘n rede om weer ‘n keer terug te gaan.
Fantastic experience. Will go back any day!
Great experiance !
