Consistent quality, and value for money, you cannot go wrong with these guys. Love the Ingenuity Italian blend

Went back to Nederburg on saturday and i got to spend the afternoon with Tariro barrel sampling and making my own blends in my glass.
Its really incredible how big Nedeburg is and how far they go to get al the wines they have, Wines are sourced from everywhere in South africa and the blending experience must be the most daunting excersize.
The greatest part about the barrel sampling is in one session of listening to Tariro you gain a wealth of information an idea about the different south african climates and terroir and where to source the best wines for each varietal. a lot of work and thinking goes into Nederburg white wines.

Tasting staff are very professional and serve generous tastings. Everything from the bathroom to the couches are beautiful.

I tasted the Nederburg Manor House Shiraz 2007 at a function held at The Taj Cape Town. What a delicious wine! I also tried the Ingenuity 2007 which is a blend of Sangiovese, Barbera and Nebbiolo and truly fell in love with it. After tasting that I decided to try the Limited Edition Twenty10 Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 and I was really impressed with the wine. At R70 a bottle it really good value for money. One sometimes forget that the big brands produce such great wines.

There’s quite a lot of wines to choose form, the Cab is quite nice. The noble late harvest is very good. This is quite a big estate and home to the Nederburg Auction (who woulda guessed). A very nice setting and a “historic” part of the wine industry, so a must visit.

Hung out here for about 3 hours with Tariro the white wine maker who gave us a fantastic tasting.

We all know the name, but have you ever been to the estate? If not, what are you waiting for?

On the outside…. on the inside…. it’s all good! The tasting room is modern and hip. Their variety in wines are huge!

We were welcomed by a glass of sparkling and had the option to taste any of their wines. Our host Sjergio Franz was awesome and made us feel right at home. The tasting was informative and fun. The wine was of great quality and affordable.

Although commercial, they were not to busy, which actually made our whole experience more enjoyable. Nederburg is definitely one of the best “corporate” farms that I have visited to date.
