Seriously friendly staff and very informative… a lovely place to go visit! the wines being of very good value for what you are drinking. This place has some very nice history to go with it in relation to the lady who used to pick wild flowers and sell them!!

I discovered a little piece of heaven on the Scaapenberg slopes near Sir Lowry’s pass the other day. Mount Rozier is named after Annie Rozier, a local flower merchant that gathered wild flowers at the turn of the century and sold them in Cape Town. Legend has it that she is still waltzing around in spirit on the farm.

I was welcomed by Marelize and Leanne. They were chatty and friendly and made me feel right at home. The tasting room had a fresh and modern look and created a relaxed vibe.

The first thing that caught my attention was the interesting and unique labels on the wine bottles. Ever seen a wine labels with a fish on it? Well, the labels on the Estates mainstream wines, Rozier Reef and Rozier Bay, were inspired by Marine Conservation South Africa. Leanne gave me a Consumer’s Seafood pocket guide. The guide provides information on the type of fish that one should rather eat, the rare or overfished ones and the no-go fish. I’m definitely taking my pocket guide along the next time have a sushi craving.

The wine was of good quality and the prices were extremely affordable. I invested in a few “Nemo” bottles to enjoy while watch the soaps on TV. I’ll definitely go back to enjoy a horse ride, have a picnic and sip on some fine wine.
