Good value for money Chenin, and I also enjoyed the Kia Ora NLH. Otherwise it’s pretty average…not bad but also not a memorable experience

Beautiful farm and tasting room, although the feeling was quite big time commercial. Tasting was effecient, if a bit lacking in the technical info. Loved the Chenins. Tasting the Mulderbosch wines a big big plus!

Good but rushed tasting. Nice that you can also taste Mulderbosch wines at Kanu.

Ek het in 1999 ‘n funksie by Kirstenbosch se (destyds) nuut ontwerpte restaurant bygewoon. ‘n Onbekende, nuwe wynplaas, genaamd Kanu, se wyne was bedien. Ek was aangenaam verras. Die embleem was ongewoon, kunstig en het my nuuskierigheid oor die wynplaas was geprikkel.

Sedertien het Kanu verras met onder andere Maori wynbenaminge, kunsuitstallings, gesonder wyne met laer alkoholvlakke en wilde gisting. Self was ek nog nie op die plaas wat soveel komplimente in-oes nie, maar ek hoop om in 2010 my glasie daar te gaan vol skink. Ek is seker dat my beker sal oorloop…

Exceeded by his reputation (and he lived up to it), Kobus ‘Kanu’ was our host for the wine tasting: First up was the Chenin Blanc (lovingly called their “swimming pool” wine) which was nice and then the chenin KCB which is wooded and truly award winning (swimming pool with a braai . . .). The Rose was a bit flat but the Merlot 2001!!! . . . you’d need a cigarette after this one . . .! And to round it all off, through your slippers into the fireplace and have a Mulderbosch Shiraz (super cool!).

K&K (Kobus and Karlien) is an awesome combination of decadence that compliments the wine in every way!

What a stunning farm! About three years ago I went to Kanu for a day visit and got to experience the Harvest First Hand with Johan, followed by a lunch with Theresa. Great people and great wine!

While Kanu is famous for the quality of wines produced, they also have a secret weapon in friendly and genial host Kobus Kanu. Kobus is always around, always friendly and always helpful. His presence creates a great atmosphere and makes the tasting even more enjoyable.

The tasting room has a relaxed and informal feel and I am especially fond of the couch corner with the fireplace….perfect for sipping wine on a chilly winter afternoon.

Kanu is well know for their exceptional wines. You can also taste and buy Mulderbosch wines at Kanu. Mulderbosch is Kanu’s sister farm. The wines are well priced and really good.

Kanu is definitely one of the wine farms to revisit again an again.

Growing up in a black orientated township I never imagined in my life that I would be a wine fanatic but eversine I tasted Kanu wines I have never gone back, I defenatly think that Kanu is appealing to us young black South Africans and with 2010 around the corner it will do wonders with us.

As a yong black south African women,kanu has made me experence a whole diffrent aspect in the world of vineyards and a whole new perspective on wine. it has taught me to appreciate the taste, time and experience that is put into the production processses of making wine. i srongly beleive that as a yonug aspiring youth of south africa, kanu would be a defanate positive atrribute to the tourisim of south africa and as well a huge positive aspect to the 2010 cup itself.

Personally i would like to commend the service of Kanu wine estate for the contribution that they are busy making to the 2010 world by exposing the tourist to our beautiful wine route here in the western cape especially to our wine estate the has the rhythem of Africa and the beautiful and interesting stories told about the bird and the image that is eye catching. I was lucky enough to visit Kanu two years ago on a winelands tour,and was immediatly impressed by the way Cobus and John treated my passengersand myself.Extremely professional but also very warm and welcoming.Now i call regularly and many of my groups regard their visit to Kanu as the highlight of their winelands experience.They are good ambassadors for the product of wine.Top wines.Kia-ora,Kanu,KCB.Mulderbosch Sauv Blanc.M Shiraz. Being a tour guide for the last couple of years (specialising in wine tours) it’s been a privilege to visit many wineries in the region. From all the different wine cellars I choose to visit, Kanu has been my favourite cellar!

Kanu op die mooi Polkadraaipad,kan menige ander plaas gaan kers opsteek.Hoekom? Die diens hier is altyd vyfster hier word jy soos n koning behandel.Almal dieselfde.Oral word gepoog om die ekstra myl te loop.Kobus se insiggewende stories oor wyn en die omgewing is n moet om na te luister. Lekker loslit stories.Dit voel of n mens sommer die heeldag daar kan kuier.Dit is mense soos hulle wat van die lewe n fees maak.Die wyn is uitstaande omtrent 20 om van te kies.So komaan gaan kuier op Kanu met Kobus Kanu as gsaheer.

The moment you drive into the gate at Kanu, you are greeted with a big warm friendly smile from Simo, the security guard. This hospitality extends to the tasting room where Kobus always welcomes you in the door with a bear hug and greets you like a long lost friend. Not to mentions Floras gorgeous flower arrangements in the bathrooms and on all the tasting tables and Kiepie’s willingness to lend a hand carrying the wine to the car.

Its a pleasure doing business with you and the team Kobus, and it makes my weekly business trip to your estate a pleasure!
