I almost always buy JC Le Roux for special occasions, people appreciate it more than other ’boutique’ brands, I find. But my experience here was quite disappointing because the glasses weren’t cleaned properly.

Absolutely loved JC Le Roux. All the MCC’s were fabulous. Especially the Pinot Noir and La Valee. Our attendant was very friendly and informative. It was quite a first experience for me. Can’t wait to visit them again, maybe next time I’ll do the nougat tasting as well.

Everything about this place is fantastic. The MCC is superb, the different tasting options are well thought out and offers the guest something different, and the interior design creates a trendy feel to the tasting experience.

I’m not to big on bubbly, but the MCC tasting at JC was enjoyable. It was some time ago that we where there so need to go back! Very interesting going through the process of making MCC, learned a lot.

I usually take people here to show them the process of making proper MCC…and it never fails. Just wish the staff can learn proper English. The Pinot Noir MCC is fabulous and reasonably priced. Just check when you order snacks – they can be over priced.

Decor looks a bit bordello, but if you do the MCC tasting you get to taste some interesting stuff. Not my favourite place or wines though.

Well what a stunning farm and awesome experience!! Us 3 girls loved every minute of it! Probably because it’s so “girly” and pretty and pink, but also because it’s champagne, and I think, next to diamonds, champagne is a girl’s best friend! Frans, our host, was impeccable! He made it a special and awesome, stunning and never-to-be-forgotten experience! When I read through all the other reviews below, I couldn’t believe that they have champagne-and-oyster pairing! If I knew that, we never would’ve missed it, so I suppose there’s a reason why that happened, and that next year when our hubbies go with, we’ll have to go back and take them for a visit to JC! Cheers!

On my last visit to JC le Roux they were out of Nougat. No biggie, but I did mention it in my review. Not long after that a lady that represents the brand contacted me to appoligise for the inconvinience. I again said to her it’s no biggie (we all run out of milk sometime), but she insisted that she will make it up to me.

She stayed true to her word and last night I received not only the nougat, they spoiled rotten by organising a tasting where I tasted their new La Vallee Rose Cap Classique and the La Fleurette. I also got send home with 2 bottles of the Cap Classique and a box of nougat!

The best after-care customer service that I’ve ever received! I would like to thank JC le Roux and the team for my gift bag, the tasting and the great customer service. Your La Vallee Rose Cap Classique will be my preferred Bubbly over the festive season and every time I take a sip I will cheers to you and the awesome people that manage and represent your brand.

To the wine farm…

So I paid a visit to the home of JC Le Roux the other day and was pleasantly surprised…

We were taken on a private tour and shown never before seen behind the scenes action at the cellar (the scent of champagne being made should be bottled as a perfume…)

The cellar boasts a cinema which has chairs upholstered in bright pinks and velvet beiges to match the look and feel of the rest of the place (would make an ideal spot for a film festival -sundance Cape Town-)

The highlights were the white room where you can have a tasting paired with oysters and the Scintilla room where you can indulge in a nougat and bubbly pairing.

This farm gets my vote for an indulgent Saturday, eat your heart out Napa Valley!

I was contemplating for quit a while where to go for my 200th visit and then it struck me. We all grew up on it, we all love it and we can all afford it. What a great brand!

The tasting room has this funky kitsch look going, which I like. It was extremely busy, so at the same time it also felt a bit like a upmarket waiting lounge at Ibiza’s airport.

The nougat and sparkling wine tasting is apparently awesome, but they were out of stock on the nougat :-(

The sparkling wine, well we all now it and we all have our personal favourites. Mine is the pink Rose one and of cause the sweet old La Domaine. I also enjoyed the La Vallee and the Pongracz Rose.

Our host Hector was HOT and friendly and the manageress was kind enough to let us stay a bit later than closing time.We enjoyed a bottle on the upstairs deck with a good friend from a neighbouring wine estate.

Cheers to the look, cheers to the price and cheers to wine estate NR 200: JC le Roux.
