By far one of the best tasting experience I’ve had in a long time… i was immediately welcomed by my host as i walked in, very friendly and well informed of all the wines…
The venue itself is definitely a great one! loved the big table right in the middle of the place…
too the wines, starting of with the whites as usual, the Atkinson Ridge Sauvignon blanc was impressive, loved the asparagus showing off well. The two Chardonnay’s on being fermented using natural yeast did go down very well, but both were very complex in terms of aroma and on the palate, definitely my type of Chardonnay! Though the Kamili Chardonnay/Viognier blend was very impressive, the Viognier does so well to any wine it goes into!!
then onto the reds…. well i first went for the Amani “I am one” which I’ve been looking for for a very long time and so i found it again and boy did it impress, the palate was so complex and well integrated with so many characters it was hard to say which one was most prominent then it was followed with a great velvety texture on the palate!
All the Shiraz tasted did go down very well indeed, with the 2005 Forest Myers Shiraz being a good one or the ladies and the 2006 going down better with the men…It’s not a sexist thing, it’s just science!!
the Pendana Shiraz 2006 was indeed a great one for my taste buds!
Amani is definitely a place to see again! so i am planning on coming back!
loved it!

Cindy was fantastic and makes the visit a memorable one. Nice setting that is different and very sociable which allows the opportunity to chat to other people. Great quality wines as well especially the Kamili.

I was taken wine tasting for my birthday at the end of July, I got to choose the estates to visit, decided to go along Polkadraai. We went to Amani wine estate, what an experience!! As we walked into the tasting room we were warmly greeted by the hostess, wow can anyone smile so sweetly.

We were led to the bar, the modern and stylish venue was comfort and relaxing.

The hostess gave us a introduction to the estate, her knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious, she gave us a one on one experience. Each taste was well defined and a true relationship of flavours, quality and passion.

The surrounding views were breath taking.

Extraordinary from arrival to departure.

10 cheers to the owners and staff

This farm is absolutely gorgeous and well kept. The uber galm Cindy was our Lady O’Vino and her pride in the estate and their wines shines as bright as her passion for the industry. The Merlot cruised over my tongue and kissed my throat – luved it! Their Shiraz 2005 vs. the 2006 is a boxing match of uniqueness and I was torn. They both literally make your toes curl of delight. Normally I go on and on about the farm and the wines, but this time it’s the hostess. She knows her ‘shyt’ and she’s like a box of smarties (whatalotigot) – I could’ve sat there all afternoon and listened to her, but unfortunately the farm closed and we had to head home. I definitely recommend the Merlot, Pendana and Cindy on any given day!! *****

Lovely atmoshere. Lovely views over Falsebay. Upmarket and cosy. The mostly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thank you Corne and Cindy!

And even a little play corner for my kids which made for some excellent uniterrupted tasting. A place of peace indeed!

My favourite: Pendana Shiraz

Amani is a Swahili word and it means “Place of peace”.There is definitely no need for spitting facilities here, because everything about them is great. The wine, the view, the host! The tasting room is modern and has a lofty feel to it. It has amazing views over the Stellenbosch vineyards and Cape Peninsula.

Our host Cindy Swiegelaar was great. One can see that she has a great passion for the wine industry and she made our experience unforgettable. Amani’s motto is that the customer comes first and they will do their utmost to keep them satisfied and to cater for every palette.

The wine maker and most of the employees at Amani are female and they show their support by donating a percentage of their sales on their Chardonnay range to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Girl Power! This wine estate is definitely one to visit, if you want to experience good wine and friendly company!
